Aretha Franklin's granddaughter shares tribute on social media

The granddaughter of Aretha Franklin has shared a  moving video of her grandmother playing the piano five months before the "Queen of Soul" died last week.

A few hours after her death on Aug. 16 was announced, Victorie Franklin, 18, the daughter of Franklin's youngest son Kecalf Franklin, posted the video on her Twitter account.

"I have many memories of me coming into her home and she would be playing the piano and singing,"  Franklin said in her tweet. "Words can’t describe the pain I’m feeling, but God is telling me that she is at peace. Today we lost an icon, a legend, but today I lost my grandma. I love u and imma make u proud."

She also expressed appreciation for the support she'd been receiving on the death of her grandmother.

"Thank you to everyone who’s been sending lots of love to me. It means the world to me, and I love all of you." she tweeted.

Victorie Franklin has launched her own singing career, performing at the BET Awards in 2014 when she sang “Take Me to the King” in honor of her grandmother, who was in the audience.
