Three shot, 1 killed at large party in Eastpointe

Three people were shot Saturday night during an exchange of gunfire at a large party in Eastpointe and a 15-year-old boy died from his injuries, police said.

The triple shooting took place about 10:30 p.m. at Wilmer and Holland, which is south of Nine Mike and west of Kelly.

The shooting took place as the two groups were leaving. In addition to the three victims who were shot, multiple homes and vehicles were hit by the gunfire, police said. 

The slain 15-year-old was found shot in his head and neck. He later died. A 19-year-old man, who was shot in the torso, and a 34-year-old man who was shot in the foot are both expected to survive. All three victims are from Detroit, police said. 

There are no suspect descriptions as yet, and no arrests have been made.

Saturday’s shooting was one of two shootings targeting multiple victims in Metro Detroit. A 20-year-old woman was fatally shot and three others wounded late Saturday night at a family gathering on Detroit’s west side, police said.
