2018 Pizza Slam at Bigalora Wood Fired Cucina: Some of the area’s top chefs will battle for bragging rights and to have their pizza on the Bigalora menu for a year. Corridor Sausage teams up with Kroger: Products from Detroit’s artisan meat purveyors Corridor Sausage Co. are now available in 126 Kroger across the state, just in time for tailgate season.

Giordano’s turns one: To celebrate the one-year anniversary of the first Giordano’s Pizza location in Detroit, the downtown location will offer specials all week, starting on Monday with $1 select menu items.

Bavarian Inn named ‘greatest’: Readers of Great Lakes Bay Magazine have named both the Bavarian Inn Restaurant and Lodge the “greatest in the Great Lakes Bay Region.” The Lodge was also named “greatest wedding venue.”

National Cheeseburger Day is Tuesday: Mention that it’s National Cheeseburger Day at BurgerFi restaurant chain on Tuesday and get a $1 cheeseburger with the purchase of a cheeseburger. There’s one in Northville at 18801 Traditions.

New happy hour at Firebird Tavern: This Greektown spot at 419 Monroe has revamped its happy hour, 3:30-6 p.m. weekdays, with $5 small plates and half-off craft beers and select wines. The small plates menu has new items such as roasted eggplant and mixed vegetable bruschetta, pancetta and artichoke flatbread and smoked chicken salad cups.
