Northville police search for bank robbery suspect

Northville police are searching for this man who robbed a bank Thursday morning.

Northville Township police officials said they are searching for a man who robbed a bank Thursday morning.

The armed robbery happened at about 9:40 a.m. at the Chase Bank branch on Seven Mile at Silver Spring Drive, according to the township's public safety director Todd Mutchler.

The suspect is described as a white male, 50-years-old and wearing a brown, long-sleeve shirt and black pants. He has green eyes and a short beard.

He walked up to a teller and told her to "open your drawer, this is a robbery" and implied he had a weapon, officials said.

The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot west on Seven Mile.

Police also ask people to avoid the area.
