2018 Pizza Slam at Bigalora Wood Fired Cucina: Some of the area’s top chefs will battle for bragging rights and to have their pizza on the Bigalora menu for a year. Free gyros for new Estia location: Estia Greek Street Food of Troy is opening its second location Oct. 1 at 5753 12 Mile in Warren. To celebrate, the first 50 people in line on opening day will win one gyro a week for a year. Starting Oct. 1 the 3,000-square-foot fast-casual spot will be open 10 a.m.-9 p.m. daily.

Detroit Wing Company opened in Southfield: The newest and fourth location of Eastpointe-based Detroit Wing Company is now open at 23327 Greenfield in Southfield. The restaurant serves all-natural wings plus homemade sides. It’s open at 11 a.m. daily.

D’Vine Cookies & Dough opened in Detroit: This Ferndale-based gourmet cookie company opened its first Detroit outpost this week at 3031 W. Grand Blvd. in the New Center area. It’s open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mon.-Fri.

Bacco offers Tour of Italy: Bacco Ristorante in Southfield will highlight a different region of Italy each month with a three-course meal for $32. September’s region is Puglia, and Bacco will offer a variety of entree items like orecchiette pasta, braised chicken meatballs, a salmon dish and tomato braised top round rolls.
