Lions without Ziggy Ansah again; Kerry Hyder a healthy scratch

Detroit — The Detroit Lions will be without Ziggy Ansah for a second straight week. The former Pro Bowl defensive end was among the team's seven inactives for Sunday night's game against the New England Patriots.

Ansah had been listed as questionable with a shoulder injury suffered in the season opener. 

Also out for the Lions are offensive tackle Andrew Donnel, wide receiver Brandon Powell, guard Joe Dahl, defensive end Kerry Hyder, tight end Michael Roberts and running back Ameer Abdullah.

Hyder is a surprising healthy scratch.

Hyder played 55 defensive snaps in the first two games, recording three tackles.

The good news for the Lions is cornerback Darius Slay and wide receiver Marvin Jones are active. Slay suffered a concussion last Sunday, but was able to exit the return to play protocol late in the week, while Jones suffered a minor ankle injury in Friday's practice. 

The Patriots enter the game down three defensive starters. Safety Patrick Chung, defensive end Trey Flowers and cornerback Eric Rowe are all inactive. 

Wide receiver Josh Gordon was also scratched from New England's lineup. The talented receiver, acquired from the Browns in a trade earlier in the week, had been questionable with a hamstring injury.
