Parker's agent rails against Dolphins' decision to sit client

Miami Gardens, Fla. — Miami Dolphins wide receiver DeVante Parker was listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Lions, despite fully participating in practice the entire week.

After the Lions' 32-21 victory, Dolphins coach Adam Gase acknowledged Parker is still not fully healed from a hamstring injury that has sidelined the receiver much of the season.

“He’s not completely healthy yet but we’re still working through some things,” Gase said.

That didn’t sit well with Parker’s agent, Jimmy Gould, who shared his frustrations with the Palm Beach Post.

“I am responding that coach Gase is not telling the truth and his decision was an example of poor management and cost the team the best opportunity to win,” Gould told the Post. “He continues attacking the health of my client and that is not acceptable. Park is not only healthy, but wants to help his team win and the only real question that should be asked is how does coach Gase justify his own incompetence.

“They needed Parker active. He is completely healthy and was in full participation all week and in warmups this morning. Something smells in Miami.”

Parker, a former first-round pick, has been limited to two games and two catches this season. He’s averaged 57 receptions and 707 yards the past two seasons and was expected to be the Dolphins' No. 1 option in 2018.
