Uncork for a Cure at Cauley Ferrari of Detroit: This high-end event aims to raise funds for the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center Breast Oncology Program and Breast Care Center. Dine on cuisine from the area’s top chefs including Luciano DelSignore, James Rigato, Kate Williams, Andy Hollyday and others. Free Meals for Veterans: Locally owned Applebee’s, Olga’s Kitchen, MOD Pizza and Del Taco restaurants will offer free meals to veterans and active military personnel to honor Veterans Day on Sunday. GreenSpace Cafe adds comfort foods: The plant-based Ferndale restaurant has added hearty comfort foods to its menu, including loaded nachos, a shittake “bac’n cheezburger,” a sloppy “Joel” and dairy-free milkshakes. Find GreenSpace at 215 W. Nine Mile.

New restaurant for Northville: Downtown Northville will get a new dining destination when Italian restaurant 160 Main opens this month. The family-run business is on Main Street next to Town Square. Visit onesixtymain.com for details.

Canned cherry cider hits shelves: Michigan’s Virtue Cider out of Fennville is releasing its Michigan Cherry cider in 12-ounce cans. The company’s bourbon barrel-aged cider, the Mitten, will be release for the first time in 500ml bottles and also a cherry and a maple variety.
