Milford — Michigan State Police is investigating a sexual assault of a juvenile at Camp Dearborn in Milford, officials said Friday.

They said troopers were called to Camp Dearborn at about 10:20 p.m. Thursday to respond to a report that a juvenile had been sexually assaulted.

Troopers have contacted a suspect. During the initial interview, the suspect became combative and was arrested for resisting and obstructing a police officer, according to authorities.

Camp Dearborn is owned and operated by the city of Dearborn Recreation & Parks Department. The camp, located in Oakland County, is about 35 miles from the Wayne County city.

The city contracted the state police in 2018 to provide law enforcement services at the camp.
