Officials say police situation in Huron Township resolved

Huron Township — A police situation on Huron River Drive in the township has been resolved, officials said.

The township's Department of Public Safety said residents of the area can return to their homes.

"More information will be available in the upcoming days," officials said. "The investigation is ongoing."

At about 9 p.m. Tuesday, Michigan State Police officials said troopers and the agency's bomb squad were helping Huron Township police with a possible barricaded gunman at 21430 Huron River Drive. They also asked people to avoid the area.
