Man, 40, charged in death of Taylor woman found in Dearborn

Dearborn — A 40-year-old man was charged Monday in connection with the death of a woman whose body was found Friday in a secluded area, police said.

James Lamont Lindsey was arraigned in 19th District Court in Dearborn on a first-degree murder charge, according to Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad. Lindsey was also charged with a habitual offender, second offense, he said.

A judge ordered Lindsey to be held without bond and scheduled his next court appearance for some time next week, the chief said in a statement.

Lindsey was convicted in 1997 of first-degree criminal sexual conduct in Wayne County, according to the Michigan Department of Corrections. He also has convictions for indecent exposure, retail fraud and drug possession.

Authorities accuse Lindsey of killing a 34-year-old Taylor woman whose body was found at about 7:45 a.m. Friday near the intersection of Paul and the Southfield Freeway.

Detectives continue to investigate the death.

Police ask residents of the area to check security cameras for any suspicious activity between 4-9:30 a.m. Friday.
