Former New England Patriots wide receiver Antonio Brown says he's enrolled in online classes at Central Michigan.

Antonio Brown says he's done with professional football.

Now, it seems, the disgrunted star wide receiver is going back to school, posting on Instagram on Monday that he has enrolled in four online classes at his alma mater, Central Michigan University.

Brown, 31, left CMU after his junior year in 2009, and was a sixth-round draft pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He never earned his bachelor's degree.

According to the Instagram post, Brown is taking 12 credits: three each for Introduction to Management (MGT 312), Technical Writing (ENG 303WI), Death and Dying (REL 334WI) and Racism and Inequality (SOC 323).

Brown's name is not listed in CMU's online student directory, which includes all students' contact information unless they opt out.

Brown has had a troubled year, most recently being cut after just one week with the New England Patriots after a second woman accused him of sexual misconduct. He also is named in a sexual-assault lawsuit in which the accuser is Brown's former trainer; the two met while at Central Michigan.

He joined the Patriots following a rocky yet brief tenure with the Oakland Raiders, which included camp sitouts, confrontations with the front office and a lengthy dispute over which helmet he could wear this season.

Brown was traded to the Raiders in March for two picks in the 2019 NFL Draft, after his long and successful Steelers career came crashing down amid disputes with coaches and teammates, including quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

The whole string of episodes has cost Brown tens of millions of dollars.

For his career, Brown has caught 841 passes for 11,263 yards, for 75 touchdowns. He's a seven-time Pro Bowl selection and was first-team All-Pro four times.

At Central Michigan, where he played from 2007-09, the Miami, Fla., native was a two-time first-team All-American, two-time All-Mid-American Conference and a two-time MAC special teams player of the year.

He continued to be involved with Central Michigan during his rise to stardom, returning to campus several times. This summer, he also donated state-of-the-art heated benches, valued at more than $100,000, to the Chippewas football program.
