Eastpointe police continue to seek suspects in a Monday evening shooting that injured two people.

Officers were called at about 7 p.m. to the area of Tuscany and Norton Streets north of Nine Mile for a report of several gunshots being fired, according to authorities.

Investigators surrounded the shooting scene on Tuscany.

As police responded, the department received several 911 calls about the shooting. One of the callers reported a man had been shot and was bleeding in a home in the 23000 block of Brittany Street, Eastpointe Police Lt. Dave Ernatt said in a statement. Another call reported a woman had been shot in the driveway of a home in the 22000 block of Tuscany.

The officers and medics attended to both gunshot victims and took them to a hospital.

Ernatt said the 31-year-old man who had been shot ran from the initial scene on Tuscany to escape the shooter, but sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was last listed in stable condition.

The woman, 28, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was lasted listed in critical condition.

Officials said the shootings appeared to be a targeted attack and investigators recovered numerous shell casings from the scene on Tuscany. They also said it appears the casings were fired from an assault-type rifle.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call the Eastpointe Police Department at (586) 445-5100.
