Chance of snow returns Monday in Metro Detroit

Southeast Michigan's next chance for snow may come Monday, but accumulations will be low and limited to near the Ohio border, the National Weather Service said.

Snow will hit mainly from Metro Detroit south, it said.

Earlier, a hazardous weather outlook called for snow accumulations of 1 inch or less. Fremont, in west Michigan, saw 2.1 inches; Sylvester, 1.2 inches; Hudsonville, 1 inch; Hastings, 0.5 inches; and Grand Rapids 0.6 inches.

On Monday, a chance of snow could come after 1 p.m. with a high near 36. Chanceof precipitation is 30%. Snow could return Monday night, with a 40% chance expected.

Meanwhile, a small craft advisory is in effect for Lake Huron on Sunday. Monday through Saturday, northwest gales are possible along with lake-effect snow squalls.
