Swedish forward Lucas Raymond was selected by the Detroit Red Wings with the fourth overall pick in the 2020 NHL draft.

The Detroit Red Wings picked Swedish winger Lucas Raymond with the fourth overall pick in the 2020 NHL draft on Tuesday after the New York Rangers took Alexis Lafreniere No. 1, the Los Angeles Kings selected Quinton Byfield No. 2 and the Ottawa Senators picked Tim Stutzle No. 3.

Yzerman exposed to COVID, tests negative

Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman will participate remotely tonight and tomorrow after being exposed to an individual who tested positive for COVID-19.

Yzerman was expecting to be at Little Caesars Arena, with director of amateur scouting Kris Draper, chief amateur scout Jesse Wallin, and assistant general managers Ryan Martin and Pat Verbeek. Here's Ted Kulfan's story.

The Wings have already been busy today. As Ted reports below, the Wings waived winger Justin Abdelkader in order to buy him out and they loaned center Joe Veleno to Malmo in the Swedish Hockey League.
