Detroit — The Red Wings traded forward Dmytro Timashov's rights to the New York Islanders for future considerations.
Timashov, 24, was claimed off waivers late last season and played in five games for the Wings (no points).
Timashov had nine points (four goals, five assists) in 39 games with Toronto last season, before being waived.
A restricted free agent, the Wings were not able to come to terms with Timashov during this off-season.
