The Wolverines get a critical stop and then feed Hunter Dickinson inside, who draws a foul and will go to the line. Dickinson makes just one, putting Michigan up 47-46. He's 1-for-4 from the line tonight.

Bernard almost loses it but still finishes at the rim, and UCLA has the lead once again. 3:30 to go in the game.

FINAL: UCLA 51, Michigan 49

UCLA and Michigan trade buckets as Austin Davis gets an and-1 to make it 38-36. Johnny Juzang hits a jumper on the other end, which is matched by a second-chance layup from Chaundee Brown on the next Michigan possession. It's 40-38.

Juzang and Davis go back-to-back again as the energy picks up here in the second half. Mike Smith finally gets a bucket, and it's a big one. He drills a 3 to to put Michigan up, 43-42, its first lead of the game since it was 17-16 in the first half.

Michigan rides momentum, draws within 1 in second half

Johnny Juzang is back on the court after getting his ankle taped with what we can only assume is some sort of cast. He's sprained that ankle three times.

Hunter Dickinson draws another foul inside, but again, it's not a shooting foul. He gets the ball moments later and misses.

Eli Brooks helps settle things down with a bucket, and Michigan has its smallest deficit of the half, 34-31. Brooks comes right back down on the next possession and lays it in inside yet again, and Michigan is fired up.

Media timeout: UCLA 34, Michigan 33 (12:26 2nd)

Tyger Campbell hits a stepback jumper to open the half and put UCLA up, 29-23. Hunter Dickinson scores at the other end, but Campbell comes right back and adds another bucket to make it 31-25.

Franz Wagner misses inside. Eli Brooks is called for an extremely questionable shooting foul as Johnny Juzang stands along the perimeter. He'll get three shots at the free-throw line, making all three. It's a 9-point game.

Dickinson will go to the line on the offensive end, missing both. Juzang comes down awkwardly on his previously sprained ankle, and will go to the trainer's table.

Dickinson scores in the paint as Michigan gets a turnover on the ensuing UCLA possession, opening the door for 2 more points from Dickinson. The big man is fired up, and we've got a 5-point game.

Michigan's defense gets a stop, and Dickinson goes to work again. This time he draws a foul, but not a shooting foul, apparently.

Tyger Campbell puts UCLA up 3 with a pullup jumper, which Brandon Johns promptly answers at the other end.

Johnny Juzang scores on a nice little turnaround, again matched by a bucket from Johns. These two players do this again on the next two possessions, and we've got a 24-23 UCLA lead.

Campbell makes his presence felt again with a 3, and Juzang finally has some help. UCLA is up, 27-23.

Chaundee Brown gets a good look from 3, but it catches iron.

He misses both free throws.

HALFTIME: UCLA 27, Michigan 23

Johnny Juzang doing all the work for UCLA

Chaundee Brown hits the game's first 3, and hopefully that's the start of something energetic here in this regional final. It's a 9-0 Michigan run.

Johnny Juzang finally ends the run with a bucket inside, which is immediately answered by Austin Davis at the other end. It's 13-6, Michigan.

Juzang then gets the Bruins on a roll with 3-pointers on two straight UCLA possessions, interrupted by a layup from Franz Wagner. It's a 3-point game.

Back to Juzang, and he scores again. He's on fire; 6-for-8 from the field with 14 of UCLA's 16 points.

Michigan has a poor sequence on the glass, and Wagner fouls Jaime Jaquez after he pulls down the board.

Media timeout: Michigan 17, UCLA 16 (3:40 1st)

Michigan, UCLA off to slow start in Elite Eight

Michigan gets the first possession of the game, and we are officially underway with a trip to the Final Four on the line. The Wolverines come up empty but Brandon Johns forces a turnover and lays it in on the other end to go up 2-0.

The Wolverines struggle offensively over the following minutes while UCLA's Johnny Juzang and Jaime Jaquez score off turnovers on back-to-back possessions. It's only 4-2, Bruins, but the Wolverines have to clean up the sloppy play sooner rather than later if they have any hopes of making the Final Four.

Media timeout: UCLA 4, Michigan 2

Eli Brooks scores in the paint to snap a scoring drought that was nearing four minutes.

Hunter Dickinson dunks and moments later scores after a UCLA offensive foul to make it 8-4, Wolverines.

Media timeout: Michigan 8, UCLA 4 (11:55 2nd)
