Jackson — A suspect in the fatal shootings of three men Sunday at a southern Michigan home was arrested in Grand Rapids on Monday night, police said.

Zacharie Scott Borton is wanted in connection with the homicide of three people in Grass lake.

Zacharie Scott Borton, 43, was taken into custody without incident around 7:30 p.m. in the 800 block of 3rd Street NW, said Grand Rapids police Sgt. Dan Adams. The Grand Rapids Special Response Team and Michigan State Police's Emergency Support Team had been executing a search warrant when Borton was arrested.

Borton had been staying at the home where the men were found, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office said in a statement Monday. He was believed to have been driving a vehicle belonging to one of the victims, police said. Borton is being held at the Jackson County jail, and is currently awaiting for his arraignment.

Borton was wanted by Grand Rapids police on one count each of felonious assault and discharging a firearm into a building, sheriff's officials said. It was unclear if he was arrested on those charges or in the triple homicide on Monday.

Michigan State Police said its emergency support team assisted authorities with executing a search warrant in the Grand Rapids area Monday night but could not provide details or confirm if they were seeking Borton.

Deputies found the bodies of an 80-year-old man and two 70-year-old men while responding just before 6 a.m. Sunday to a reported shooting. They have been identified as Delmar Eugene Fraley, Edward John Kantzler  and Michael George Pauli.
