It was the inverse of Michigan's opening-round matchup against Indiana in the Big Ten tournament, as the Wolverines stormed back in the second half against Colorado State on Tuesday to advance with a 75-63 win in Indi

Michigan closes out Colorado State to advance in NCAA Tournament

Hunter Dickinson bullies his way inside for another basket out of the timeout to put Michigan up six, and Frankie Collins comes up with a steal at the other end. 

Dickinson then makes a pair of free throws, giving Michigan its largest lead of the game (eight points) with 3:27 to go in the game.

On the other end, another huge break for the Wolverines: Isaiah Stevens fouls out trying to grab a rebound from Eli Brooks.

Moussa Diabate makes a pair of free throws that puts MIchigan up 10 with under 3 minutes to play, though it's answered with a bucket on the other end.

Brooks drills a jumper that puts Michigan back up by 10, and then pulls down a rebound on the other end. Michigan loses the ball out of bounds with 1:00 left, but it has quite the grip on this game.

The end of this game is taking forever, but Michigan is slowly marching toward the finish line of a winning effort.

Michigan leads by 11 with 32.7 seconds left.

Michigan begins to take control of game

Both teams trade turnovers out of the timeout, as Colorado State snaps an 8-0 run from Michigan with a 3-pointer by Jalen Lake.

Moussa Diabate and Eli Brooks team up to keep Michigan's offensive momentum rolling, putting the Wolverines up five. David Roddy answers with a basket underneath.

A foul is called on Colorado State, as we'll head into a media timeout.

Hunter Dickinson makes an and-1 bucket out of the layup that puts Michigan up by six out of the timeout. 

Collins later adds to the lead with a driving layup, but Jalen Lake splashes another 3 to keep the game close.

Michigan takes first lead of game on Colorado State

Colorado State gets back on track with another 3-pointer from Dischon Thomas, who is now 5 of 6 from beyond the arc. Colorado State is 10-for-27 from 3-point range as a team.

Michigan is fortunate to have Colorado State blow an easy bucket on a turnover, and Caleb Houstan drills a 3-pointer on the other end to make it a one-point game and keep the momentum with Michigan.

Eli Brooks gives Michigan its first lead of the game with a mid-range jumper, 45-44. Wolverines are surging.

An and-1 bucket from Chandler Jacobs puts Colorado State up by two, and a layup on the next possession makes it four. Michigan needs a bucket.

Brooks hits another jumper to stop the short Colorado State run, and Houstan hits 3-pointers on back-to-back possessions to put Michigan up four. What a turn of events.

Michigan bounces back to start second half

David Roddy drills a jumper out of halftime to put the Rams up by nine points out of the gate.

Hunter Dickinson and Eli Brooks quickly cut the deficit to five, though, as an ensuing steal by Dickinson springs Frankie Collins free for a fast-break layup that cuts the deficit to three. What an efficient and important run for the Wolverines, as Collins extends his point total to nine.

Kendle Moore responds for Colorado State with a 3-pointer. Collins finally hits Michigan's first 3-pointer of the game on the other end, and that's a great sign for the Wolverines.

Michigan cuts into deficit before halftime

Terrance Williams cuts Michigan's deficit to single-digits with a pair of free throws, but Dischon Thomas stays hot with a 3-pointer at the other end to make it an 11-point game.

The Wolverines are 0-for-7 from 3-point range thus far.

Michigan is managing to stay afloat as Caleb Houstan and Hunter Dickinson get involved on the offensive end, and with the Wolverines pushing the floor to get a shot off before halftime, Eli Brooks is sent to the line with a foul at midcourt.

Brooks makes one of two, and all of a sudden, it's a mere seven-point deficit at the half.

Michigan struggling to find momentum in first half

David Roddy (seven points) and Dischon Thomas (nine) continue to stay hot for the Rams, as Colorado State jumps out to its biggest lead of the game, 28-13.

Frank Collins helps Michigan get some momentum back; he hits a layup, gets to the free throw line and makes one of two, then steals the ball from Roddy before slamming home a dunk on the other end to make it a 10-point game.

Turnovers piling up as Michigan falls behind

Out of the timeout, Michigan and Colorado State trade turnovers on three straight possessions. The Wolverines now have six turnovers less than 10 minutes into the game.

Michigan's eighth turnover of the game springs Chandler Jacobs free for a breakaway dunk that puts the Rams up by seven.

The Wolverines and Rams are off to a fast-paced start in Indianapolis, as Colorado State gets ahead of Michigan to open things up.

Dischon Thomas and Isaiah Stevens each have six points for Colorado State and Hunter Dickinson has four for Michigan.
