Michigan State reels in top-ranked JUCO interior offensive lineman, adds more from portal

East Lansing — Michigan State made a splash on signing day, pulling in offensive lineman Keyshawn Blackstock, the top-rated junior college interior lineman, then later adding defensive lineman Tunmise Adeleye, a former five-star prospect who is transferring from Texas A&M.

Blackstock got things going early in the day with his signing. The four-star prospect from Coffeyville Community College in Kansas, announced his commitment to Michigan State Wednesday morning then soon after it was announced he had officially signed with the Spartans.

At 6-foot-5 and 315 pounds, Blackstock was the No. 1 interior offensive lineman and No. 8 junior college prospect overall, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He chose Michigan State out of a group of finalists that included Tennessee, Oregon, Southern Cal and Oklahoma.

Blackstock joins a class that includes incoming freshmen Cole Dellinger from Clarkston and Stanton Ramil from Alabama. Both four-stars, Dellinger was the first member of the class to submit is national letter of intent on Wednesday.

Adeleye redshirted his first season at Texas A&M and played in three games in 2022. He also visited Miami and California before landing on Michigan State. The Spartans added three defensive linemen through the transfer portal on Wednesday with Florida State’s Jarrett Jackson and Liberty’s Dre Butler also signing. Michigan State also brought in three 2023 four-star defensive line prospects, including Bai Jobe, Andrew Depaepe and Jalen Thompson.

Michigan State closed its class with 14 high school players signed to the class, including eight four-star prospects. Jobe, Depaepe and Thompson highlight that group along with Dellinger, Ramil, quarterback Sam Leavitt, linebacker Jordan Hall and tight end Brennan Parachek.

The Spartans also added one junior college transfer — Blackstock — and nine transfers. The transfer group was led by Adeleye along with Butler, Jackson, and UConn running back Nathan Carter.
